I think this is Little Orphan Annie doll. It was my mothers who passed away at age 85. I have researched it & not sure but I think 1930's. Any info would be helpful.

Yes she is Little Orphan Annie a early version with cloth body and composition head . Dates mid 1930's . She needs a red dress :-) Several companies made her . I can not see a mark on her back but sometimes it is faint as the mold gets used many times and each time embossed company name becomes harder to see . Is there and area that looks like a raised letter on back ?

Yes, it says " Famous Artist Synd" on back. She has red velvet cap but no dress. Thank you !!

Wonderful ! I would try and find a dress for her even if you had to get a newer version , She is very collectible doll
Orphan Annie first appeared in the comics in 1924
Famous Artist Synd (syndicate ) made ones are most sought after .

I have a similar doll with same head with v famous artists synd molded on back. Yet her body is completely cloth. With movable arms and legs. Her dress and panties seems to be original (although not red). I'm having a difficult time dating this and want to know if it is annie? Where can I submit a picture?

You should post it as one of your items .... A bit of a challenge but it is not that hard.
