Signed EG on bottom
Same signature as previous posting today of small wedding vase.....if that's what is it.
Need help with these two pieces.

Traditionally-made Navajo wood-fired pottery, like your other piece. EG may be Eddie Goodman, husband of well-known Navajo potter Louise Goodman. I don't know for sure that he makes pottery, but I don't know of any other Navajo potters making traditional pots, who have the initials EG, either.

I came home and started reading up on Native American Pottery and figured in was Navajo. Now I will try and read up on Eddie Goodman. Once again Thank you

this piece has the ceremonial break in the raised decoration around it.... traditional to all Diné pottery.
I will add picture of that side.

Just found my copy of "Navajo Pottery, Tradition I Innovations" by Hartman and Musial. It mentions on page 69 that Louise Goodman's daughter Eloise, and two sons, Eddie Jr. and Edward, all made pottery. The book was published in 1987. I haven't seen those names mentioned in more recent publications, such as the Navajo Folk Art books. But one of them probably used the E.G. initials.
CanyonRoad I tried so hard last night to get a list of her children's names online but had no success. My husband and I both thought it had to be one of her children. I will have to search for a copy of your book you mentioned above or head to a library. Thank you for helping with this :) I love to learn about the history of piece's I own..
We know Edward Goodman and have many pieces he made for us. One Easter he made a rabbit, his family went picking pinion nuts, fired the rabbit with pine pitch, brought it back with a little flour on it as they were cooking over the same fire. We also have a large bear made by his mother Louise.
