The highest rank in the scouts is Eagle scout. Boy scout items are becoming highly collectible scout leaders are always looking for old badges, books, clothes, pin backs etc. Both my boys are scouts and any time I find scout stuff I grab it. Great pieces of our history and a reminder of the way things were.

Yes thankyou so much vintagemad Is there somehow I can get his name by the articals I have .I never thought of doing it when I bought them I also have some museum Id model ships hand made and signed by this guy when he was in military. It was an estate sale. Thanks john

As far as finding his name with the scouts I guess you could check the clothes, I find people put names inside tags or collars. If you had any of the hand books those would have a name as well. I think you should start with the signed ships his military history would be easier to find then the scout history I think. Plus a history with military items bring a higher value. Good luck!

The shps are US But they were made by a jappenese artist. The only thing the ships have to do with him is. He took them from a jap camp when they took it over.I have x2 drawers. They slid inside a cabbinet. This is my guess. But I need his name? I am going to look in clothes better for a name.ThanksFor chatting To help me.

If it helps any, the green uniform means that this scout was an explorer, a higher level of the scouting program based around more adventurous camping trips, such as backpacking, whitewater rafting, or a "high adventure" trip such as Florida SeaBase or Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. The uniform dates to after April of 1970, based on the Council Strip, or the patch on the left sleeve. Looking that up, you could probably find out the Council Website, and possibly even the Troop website. It seems this young man had 12 Merit Badges, but in 1974 a young boy hoping to reach the rank of Eagle had to have earned 24 Merit Badges. Luckily now its only 21 Badges, 12 Required and 9 Electives. I'm an Eagle Scout myself, and I'd love to answer any more questions you might have. Drop me a line anytime on my page.
      Yours In Scouting,
      C. Knight
