I saw this pendant in a thrift store and I just didn t take itwith me because I thought it was broken. But I couldn t stop thinking about it when I got home. So I did some research and I found out it has some similarities in style with the modernist jewelry Guy Vidal made in the sixties.
I forgot all about the pendant, but a few months!!! later I came back to that store and I saw the pendant was still hanging there. I did a closer inspection, and I noticed the pendant wasn t broken at all, its in great shape! the original hook was missing and it was hanging on an ugly string. So it came home with me eventually. My husband doesn t understand why I bring home ugly jewelry ;-)
I do like it though, and I wear it occasionally.
What do you think? could this be a Guy Vidal? i cant see his marks....
On the last picture you can see our son saying hi. We are expecting him end of december, start of january.

Hello Newtimes, it's an interesting piece, in the brutalist style but, I'm afraid, if it does not bear his mark it is not a Guy Vidal piece. I grew up in Ottawa in the 60's and 70's. My parents regularly travelled to Montreal for shopping. My father discovered Guy Vidal's atelier and made several purchases there in the late 60's early 70's. I was incredibly fortunate to inherit the collection when they past away, my sisters did not have the same interests. There is something very appealing about this style, isn't there? Congratulations on your baby, hope your are doing well.
