    This vintage item from E. J. Korvette's recalls the early day of chain discount stores. Korvette's is generally considered the first of such type of stores.

    Popular logic was that its name derived from "Eight Jewish Korean War Vets", but it was actualy named after its founder…Eugene J. Korvette. And the chain was started just before the USA-Korean War began. But an interesting bit of trivia, nevertheless.
