Another collection of collectible Military & military-type buttons, some have been found at "dig-in" sites, others at yard sales, estate sales and in Grandpa's stuff. These pieces of history can be fun to look for and collect.

I have found in my sewing button can a military button I think. The front has emblem in the middle with an airplane in the middle of it. Looks like wiggly lines radiating out from the plane around it. On top of emblem it has an eagle I think facing left and then 13 stars around the outside of the button. The back of the button has L & R Metal Prod. Corp. ,Bronx N. Y. on it. It is one and one eighth inches across. Just curious if anyone knows if it was for an old military uniform and what it is worth. Thank you
Hi Edna,
Your Button is an old Air Force uniform Button, worn about 1947 or a bit later. These are pretty common and the value would be $3 to $4 dollars, certainly not more than $5. Hope this helps!
