I was at a Aladdin dealers shop today and was asking questions about some of my lamps. I told him I had a electric Aladdin lamp with a slag glass shade and it was from Muncie, Indiana and it got his attention. He said he had never seen one before but that it was somewhat rare. The lamp is 13 1/2" tall and on the bottom it shows Aladdin mfg co. Muncie Ind. No.4. He said lamps were made there and Alexandria Indiana. Electric lamps were sold beginning in the 1930's. Unique deco designs made Aladdin electric lamps popular in major cities. Electric lamps became increasingly more practical and fashionable. Glad I stopped by and ask questions.

Very interesting! I was wondering if the shade is original to the lamp? It appears to be too short for the lamp, as it doesn't cover the switch. Or, is covering the switch something that has happened since the 40's? Does anyone else have any thoughts regarding the shade?
Judy a lamp dealer told me this lamp was all original? I will have to do some checking myself. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Have a great day! :-)
