This is an old chest of drawers I found at a thrift store, thought it was very interesting, and bought it. I have been using it as a buffet in my dining room. I am hoping someone can provide some information about it. There are not markings of any kind on it anywhere.
The front has the carving (could be resin ) of what looks to me to be Paul Revere making his famous ride. (see second picture)
The top has two little boxes with lids. One in each corner. (see second picture)
Along both sides of the drawers on the front of this dresser are what appear to be two muskets carved into the wood. The muskets run the lenght of the side with one musket pointing down and one pointing up.
Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

I also have one. Found it at an antique shop in Auburn, Alabama. I bought it because I have a Paul Revere 'connection'. No other info, but mine was 'antiqued', so I did some work on it but love 'gypsygirl's version. Mine did not have the TLC hers received.

If you look real close at the carving it has a copyright symbol on the lower right edge of the carving but could not make it out on my dresser.

I have the bed (double bed size) a tall chest and a desk with the 2 boxes at the back. My grandfather bought them new about 1940 - 1950. The symbol that Eric saw seems to be 4 small impressions; 1 double circle, 2 rectangles, and a single circle. I couldn't tell whether there might be any letters inside the rectangles.

Has there been any new discoveries in the last 7 years? Older family remembers that the set of three pieces was presented new to Grandma Elsie at Thanksgiving 1948. They were probably bought somewhere near Chicago. Grandpa made a downpayment on them and paid them off in installments. We are still using them as our bedroom furniture!
