Marked "Kilgore" on one half of the inside, and "728-1" on the other half inside. Appears to have nickel wheels. I assume it is from the 1920's. Original red paint. 3-¼" long, 1-?" wide, 1-¼" tall, 4-½ oz. It came from my parent's estate.

      What is the unsolved mystery?
    2. johnm2, 10 years ago
I really have not found any information on this particular cast iron toy car on the Internet or any where else. I would like to know how old it is, and if it is commonly available or fairly rare.
    3. johnm2, 10 years ago
No, this car is the only one I have. I thought it could be from the 1920s because I thought I read somewhere that Kilgore was merged with another company near the end of the 20s, but I have since seen other Kilgore toys that were produced after that. I would just like to learn more about it if anyone has any more information.

Thanks for the additional information about the Kilgore company. I would still like to know if this particular car is fairly rare or common. I have not seen anything the same as this particular car on the Internet.

This small version did not have the driver. They are not rare and usually under $50.00

      A keeper for sure!
