    Not sure what this is, I have two of them. They are about 2 1/2 feet tall and it has a pivot point at the top, It can basically lay flat. The smaller part on the right is adjustable up or down to each of the notches you see.

      It's a ladder jack, if you are painting the outside of a house and have two ladders and two ladder jacks, you attach a ladder jack to each ladder and then you can place a scaffold on the ladder jacks, now you work between the ladders.
