    I thought it was a candle holder, but it's discolored inside that hole, like maybe water went there. There are no markings, it is hand-painted and feels lovely to the touch, like bisque. Any info on this piece would be appreciated.

      Could it be an ink well??? Or pen holder for a desk ??

      I guess it could be, but the bisque is unfinished inside that hole.. Wouldn't ink stain everything?
