Hello once again : ) I found this among some old buttons and cuff links. I was thinking it's some innovative button or cuff link design. Any ideas?

Ha... Still searching for the use, and name, of this kind of "buttons"!
Have some in a forgotten place (too much stuff!).
They usually are ornamented, like these:
