Here is my Beautiful My Size Barbie OOAK remake from a few years back - she is 36" tall - her head is from a 60's Quick Curl Barbie Beauty Center -

Did you mold her high heel feet ?
Hi Manikin - No I sculpted them with epoxy putty. The hard part was getting up the courage to saw off the large flat feet. After I got through that - I started building them back up. I actually made only the feet at first - and when they were done I added the shoes. The putty I used had fairly long open time so I was able to nip and scrape and bend for several hours each evening - and then sand the next day. I also kept photos of No. 1 Barbie's feet (enlarged to proper size) nearby for constant referral. Additionally, the epoxy is heavy so she stands on her own.
Very well done . I was telling my daughter about this Barbie ,she is a huge Barbie collector and belongs to several clubs . I said it was the coolest idea you had !! :-))
Thank you Manikin ... so nice of you to say. It was a big job to make her - but, once done, it's something no-one else has. If your daughter thinks she might want to tackle a project like it - and, of course, the pieces are still readily available, I could give her some tips. I bought another Quick Curl Barbie Beauty Center on Ebay - thinking I might want to do another (and haven't yet because I have a lack of focus and am always off on another project) but I can see a second one would be easier - knowing the pitfalls of the first. (It also occurred to me - as you realized in your question - that if a person made a mold of the feet - the process would go much faster.)
Question... have you done the reroot? how do you remove the head...? i'm really curious to know if its any simmilar to the regular barbies...
