This rocking chair is 27" tall by 18.75" wide
I don't know what type of wood this is and there are no markings.
Anyone have any ideas about who may have made it or where it may have come from and type of wood?

Mixed tropical woods, i.e. possibly a type of Mahogany and Monkey Pod. Stylistically it has an asia look; Bali would be a strong point of origin.

I had to give this a big love just based on picture #2. The dimension of the stock used to build this is massive and the joinery I can see it will outlast many generations of use. This thing will support the weight of several adults. When and where did you ever see a little chair built like this? If it isn't one of a kind I question the company that made it still being in business. A commercial maker couldn't afford the material unless they are limited edition or custom made. It isn't old but I would certainly call it unique.
Fhrjr2 that's part of how I can tell a general area where it's from. With the Indonesian Rainforests supplying the wood, you see very little use of what we would consider bargain secondy woods.

Tube I agree with your comments but the shear massiveness of it defies good business sense. There is enough material in this to make two or more. Rainforest cutting is starting to be regulated and they need to learn to conserve a bit. Lots of wood you can't even find a decent cut or size anymore. Cutters got greedy and raped the forest.
