I wonder if anyone can help me identify the maker's mark on the bottom of this sugar bowl and creamer? I've tried to locate it in reference lists, but can't seem to find anything like it. There is a large "R" next to an image which I can't quite make out, and then the capital letter "N" and a number. This lived in my mother's china cabinet and may have belonged to her grandmother.

RN# is the registration number - the RN 159276 comes back to Spode China, England. Replacements shows this as Meadow pattern but their pictured plate shows a darker blue. - I could not find the RN142594 registration number

Thank you! I also found it interesting that it is marked twice and with two different numbers.

Hi again, aghcollect. Would you mind sharing the name of the reference guide you used?

I just googled "RN159276" which came to Copeland Spode - for the pattern I went to replacements.com spode meadow pattern - they only have a plate shown. I think the RN159276 is for the shape (or form) and the RN142594 is for the Meadow pattern since they are both stamped in the same blue color as the pattern itself.

I own a platter stamped in brown/purple? MEADOW over RdNo142594 (in a rectangle) that has impressed mark Spode over Imp and also printed 2 over 3349. If I can figure out how to add a picture I will do this. The platter is scalloped and has orange flowers and leaves with navy blue leaves scattered. The large platter has a rim surround of Imari colors of a meadow floral scene and is rimmed in metallic gold. Similarities: scallop edge on front, floral meadow rim and interior rim of alternating flowers. Differences: middle has a large spray of flowers and leaves and the rim is not swirled on front, but straight scallop. The back is plain with just the very edge showing scallop.
