My recent estate sale find. No clue on age or origin. I think the center cylinders are Jade, and the rest is silver over copper? The lid to the salt vessel? with the spoon seems like it is solid silver. I can usually scour the net and find something similar but I'm stumped here. They measure about 1 1/2'' in height and 1 1/8th inch in diameter.

These are very nice! Are there any hallmarks?
    2. joemg311, 10 years ago
Sadly there are no hallmarks to be found. The bottoms are worn though so there could have been at one time. :(

The stone (more likely serpentine) parts are chinese archer's thumb rings, decor is chinese too, so... chinese, made for export!

Thank you for the input! :) I was thinking they were perhaps Chinese. Perhaps a jeweler could tell me for sure if the archer's thumb rings are in fact jade. Any guess as to the age?

Around mid 20th. For the stones, try a scratch test in discreet area with a steel needle, if white line left: soft stone, if dark line: stone harder than steel :-)

I tried several sharp metal objects no pin laying around but... scissors, razor blade and staple remover all could not scratch the stone. At best there was a dark line the I was able to wipe clean.

      So, could be jade!
