I came across this cool guy at an antique mall and I just really like him. I can't seem to find anything exactly like it after doing research. Not sure if it is a Hubley or a replica. It looks like it may have been repainted since the paint is in pristine condition. Any help on the age and maker of this piece is greatly appreciated!!

Good call manikin, and he seems to be rough textured, that is another sign of a reproduction.

All good observations and I will add one more. The dog is facing forward. I have never seen a forward facing dog authenticated or marked Hubley. The majority of them were facing right. Finding a left facing one isn't impossible and they were made. The lefties are quite rare. Up in New England Hubley is pretty easy to find in yard sales but you have to get off the beaten path. I have only one left and he is a seated Boston Bull Terrier. It was my youngest son's first pet dog. Very low maintenance pet.

Low maintenance indeed fhr! I think I'll keep him- he matches my black and white kitchen. Thanks for the education guys! I'm glad I only paid 20 bucks for him!

You did OK for $20. More important is the fact you like it and even more important is that you can accept it for what it is. Many people refuse to accept the fact that their item isn't quite as valuable as they had hoped for. I have a box with reproductions in it that I got burned on years ago. I call it my tired iron box. Once a year I put some of it out in a yard sale. I put a sign by it that says Almost Original. People actually laugh about it but take an interest and I actually sell some of it for what it is. Not everyone wants or needs an original, they want what goes with their decor or meets their likes.
