I have had this painting for over forty years, imagine my delight when I found out about the artist from your site. Especially that he painted himself in so many different scenes. The painting measures 21x25 and is beginning to show some minor crackling . I would like to know it's value. From reading post on your site I see that the artist died in 2004 and that several years ago his work was valued at up to 2500.00

When I 1st saw this, it immediately reminded me of a painting by an artist here that died about that time. Do you have any info about him/her? The artist I knew served in U-boats during the war & the painting I refer to was a self portrait on the conning tower during watch on a U-boat. Thought about it off & on & wonder if the girl living with him still has it? Want the painting but the girl has been after me for yrs & not my type! Sure don't want both! Wish me luck.
