This carved and polished black stone foo dog is about 4" long x 3" tall. I don't know what kind of stone it is, but it's very, very black - pure black. There's some writing on the bottom, but i can't read it. can anyone help me w/ the kanji characters? it might even be upside-down. Thanks!

i kind of jumped the gun on that one, but it does sound very similar to the words 'Kylin / Quyrin / Kirin'.
