AFTER THREE YEARS I RELIST THIS BROOCH TO ASK YOUR OPINION??
This is a Micro Mosaic 18K gold in Etruscan style. Tested as 18k yellow gold. It's the Greek symbol Chi Rho and is one of the earliest forms of christogram, and is used by some Christians. It is formed by superimposing the first two (capital) letters Chi and Rho of the Greek word for Christ in such a way to produce the monogram.
After examined my brooch carefully under a loop I think I can see the old Vatican hallmark of crossed keys. A better picture can not be made by the scratches on the back of the brooch and a scratch that runs right through the mark. The more I learn about Micro Mosaic jewelry the more I become convinced that this brooch was made under supervision of Castellani or at least one of his assistants. Please let me hear YOUR VALUABLE COMMENT !!

Quality is superb! As you say maybe from the Castellani school.

Agram - you must have a school near you, schools have microscopes and microscopes see better than a loop. Perhaps a teacher would help research this as a class project. Tech schools down here do all kinds of stuff if you contact them and explain the issue.

Agram, could your brooch be by the London makers Phillips Brothers?

BelleEpoque thanks for your help and yes you are right this mark seems indeed very much. But the hallmark of this brooch (with great difficulty and by a strong magnifying glass) seems to be oblique intersecting keys.
Given that this brooch a very old Micro Mosaic and moreover Etruscan, gold setting and a religious topic and because it is usually made in Italy, I am almost certain that this mark is the old Vatican gold label with the intersecting keys.
