This is an extremely rare Australian tea tin .It was made arround 1900 in Brisbane Queensland . There is a play on words in the nme (rabbits live in rabbit warrens. Australia experianced a rabbit plague from late 19th century to almost the present time . There was a bounty on their heads (actually skins ) .they where a staple food during the great depression.
This tin has a papper label marking it even more unlikely for it to survive the 100 plus years of floods ; drought etc...
please excuse my poor photo it is actually a great loooking tin.

Marty - That is the etymology of my name - Warren, but even more interesting is that Emile Gallé lived in a house he named "La Garenne" - (the rabbit warren), which foreshadows my name - Warren Gallé. Warren was my grandfather's middle name, and he was born in 1908 - I can't help but wonder if the family wasn't aware of the connection when they came up with the name. The family has a history of passing names down through generations.
