I purchased this painting at an estate sale and I think it's of Marie Antoinette. The frame is made of a plaster like material because there is a chip on the frame and it appears to be chalky like? On the back it reads J. A. Olson. Does anyone know anything about this company, if it was just a framing company or did they produce framed reproduction paintings, etc.? It looks fairly old. Thanks in advance! Oh, it measures approx. 22 x 18.

Rather Louis XV than Louis XVI style for the sitter!

My father and I worked at J.A. Olson in the late 1950's to mid 1960.
The frame could have been made anywhere from the early 1950's to the 1980's.The factory was located in Winona, Mississippi.

It is a 20th century, decorator print.
