    I went to an auction today and there was some outstanding firemans memorabilla. I happen to get this one item and thought I would share with CollectorsWeekly. There are nine items in this glass showcase. The years range anywhere from 1887 to 1914. I guess out of the nine items the Indian medal would be my favorite. It's dated Oct. 6-9, 1908. I'm just glad I got to come home with a little bit of history of the awards and medals the fireman got to wear. Hope you enjoy.

      I have my best chilhood friends in chicago and 3 are fire fighters.I always worry and tell them to stay safe.We are all getting older and they are getting up on those ladders and saving lives inice and snow.I tell them.Always watch your step and make sure your holding on good before you make your move Im apainter and know what its like on a ladder.All it takes isOOPS Thank you so much.Toyman

      I to have several friends that are fire fighters. It is a dangerous job! My nieces husband is trying to be a full time fire fighter. I pray he is safe for they have two small children. Children need both parents. Anyway thank you for your comment and have a great day Toyman!

      officialfuel, there seems to be no limits of categories you collect! And you always seem to go with the best quality. I just sold a 1880's firemans ribbon from Lead SD about 4 months ago. FYI I got about $250.00 for it.
