A while back, I purchased this Murano Blackamoor figurine. I had never seen anything like him and fell in love with his uniqueness and vibrant colors. He was manufactured by Artistica Soffiera Vetreria - Barovier
Seguso Ferro circa 1933-1937 -which are the only 4 years the company was in business- before becoming Seguso Vetri D' Arte. His upper torso, face and legs, although made of glass, have an almost metallic iridescence to them. I believe the red, green and blue are pasta glass but am not certain. He is in excellent condition and stands over 11"tall, weighs 2 lbs. and retains his original gold foil label. I would appreciate any additional information you can provide.

couple of notes, "pasta glass" or glass paste or "pate de verre" is made using different method, it's produced in molds so in a sense it's highest grade of pressed glass, and this figurine is all made from hot glass from furnace.
and another point - it probably would not be appropriate to say that "Artistica Soffiera Vetreria - Barovier Seguso Ferro" became " Seguso Vetri D' Arte" because Barovier family is one of the genuinely old glass producing dynasties (read 13th century) and is in business still by name Barovier & Toso.

Thank you for the kind words MacArt. Like I said, I believed the glass to be pasta glass but was uncertain. Thank you for the clarification. As far as Seguso Verti D' Arte, I was basing my assumption on the timeline reflected in in "Murano Magic" http://www.boglewood.com/murano/producers/segusovetri.html which shows Barovier Seguso Ferro S.V.A (1933-1937) immediately followed by S.V.A (1937-1973). I guess I must have misunderstood it.
