I got this doll for my Christening in 1987 from an unknown guest, I have a card received with it but I can't read the writing. My parents moved last year and found it in the loft! They have no idea either.

I believe she is a repro but she is in beautiful condition.
The markings say 'AM Germany 341/4k'. Next to this it says 'DEW 1984'. And she makes a noise when she is moved.

The research I've done suggests it's quite a common doll. It just seems a shame she is sat in the loft!

Anyone with further information would be gratefully received. Thanks.

She is a reproduction of a Armand Marseille Dream Baby mold 351 made in 1980's not a original antique doll. Very cute she is one of the most reproduced dolls Armand made .

oh the DEW and 84 is the initials of person who made it in a ceramic doll making class and the year made . Do you have anyone with those initials in your family as they could have made it .

Thanks very much. She is cute. I don't think she was made by or from a family member which is a shame. I find it a bit odd that no one has any idea who or where she's come from! Thanks for the help.

She was homemade by a regular person in a doll making class . Impossible to know initials it was just a regular person . So you will never know who made her . They would get blank molds at ceramic class and paint it themselves , class would fire it in kiln and you could buy legs arms ect and make a body like this one . Also you could buy pre made clothes or make your own from a pattern. Who made her if it was not a family member will remain unknown however knowing her name would not change value of doll or enjoying her as a display doll . Only the person that painted her would know she made doll . So looking for that one person would be like finding a needle in a haystack :-) Just enjoy her .

I didn't mean to imply that you didn't know, I meant my family having no idea who gave her to me. There can't have been that many people at my Christening! Thanks for all the info you have given me though.
