That's right; only one of these is by McKee Brothers. The other is often misidentified as a Variant of McKee's Masonic; at least in one book on EAPG cake stands. The first 2 images are cut paste to juxtapose the similarities of these patterns. The Masonic pattern is to the left or top in each image. Superior Glass was a marketing subsidiary of United States Glass for a short time. Thus the pedestal of Silicon #1900 is the same pedestal used by USG for their Manhattan pattern; so this is the 'tell'. The Masonic plateau is sometimes found on a metal pedestal as well.

MFG: McKee Bros. and Silicon Glass Co.
    YOP: 1884 and 1907

Laugh out loud tc! Hmmm, I do collect a bit of glass, never having identified any of it...could you maybe pose the question in multiple choice? :D
    3. TallCakes TallCakes, 9 years ago
only two choices here; the same stand is on the right or top in each image : )) which also means that the same stand is on the left or bottom in each image ; )

Ahhh, I see what you've done! Clever! :) okay, this is a straight up guess: the one with the rounded rim, the taller of the two is McKee bros'. And I will need a multiple choice format for other, or if I'm incorrect, this just got more complicated :D

IMHO, the one on the right is the Masonic one and I base that on the stem and wafer attributes. The other is some Block pattern made by some other Companies. RER(BOB)

I think even got mixed up in that 3rd comment; The left and top are all the same. Also could mention that the other maker also used the same pedestal with another top. So If I'm interpreting correctly that is one for left and one for right.

even after going thru the cut-paste and flipping images to make them all agree I still can't keep them straight. So Jewels, I do now see that you both do agree. Even the EAPG cake stand book has the ID wrong on these; so I don't feel too bad at getting confused : )

Tallcakes, what was the answer? :)

Hi there Jewels: ) I had forgotten about this one. I've updated the info and title. So for more explanatory example here is another of my post with the same stem of one of these by USG:

Hi there TC! ;) So, I was wrong! :/ :)
    19. TallCakes TallCakes, 9 years ago
yes, Jewels; sadly the guesses were wrong : ( But then it took me years to find out that the Superior #1900 was not Masonic; and then some time to obtain an example of #1900 to compare.
