I love industrial art like these jacks. I have a few scattered around here getting nicely rusted!

My neighbour bought 4 of them at a yard sale identical to your yellow one. I routinely ask to borrow them for various projects - including a recent lift on the corner of a sagging outbuilding to block it up.

I trust a screw-jack much more than the hydraulic ones, but the turning action on the screw can sometimes impede its location of use. I keep offering to buy at least one (or two!) from my neighbour but he won't sell. At least I get to use 'em whenever I want!

I'd say they're collectible and still very useful for their intended purpose.
