Hello, Very well made as hinge is small but so perfect. I got this when I bought like 185 grams of different jewelry. The two balls came same way. I really got some great jewelry years ago, buying in piles! I guess this is silver, and made to carry things, I read once women use to put cotton and perfume in pendants for bad smells, as open sewage systems were common and still are some parts of the world, help appreciated on this toracat
Hi toracat, I looked up the pendants for the smells, and they seemed to be more closed with little holes from what I could tell. This pendant you have is so cool, I would love it to be able to wear different little special things. I wonder if that was the intended purpose. I'm sure some of the great jewelry people will know for sure. Anyways, it is really cool :)

Jewels has the right idea there. Many folks didn't have a lot of money during the depression era, that's my guess of when it's from, so they bought this so they could change it up...Victorian times too, but I have some beads same as these and they are from the 30's.
Thank you share! The beads came in a different pile of jewelry, but I like putting different things inside!
Are they beads? There are no holes in them for stringing?
