I bought this in the south of France at a brocante. It fits perfectly as a ladies neck choker but is uncomfortable as a hair band.

I am looking for some guidance to identify this please. It is flexible and feels like copper.

Is it possibly Art Deco costume jewellery?

Something similar was popular here in the U.S. back in the 80's. Most were not silver but some other mixed metals. And yes, used as chokers.
