I acquired this clock for $15 through a local online Buy & Sell. I have quite a few clocks of various styles and ages but have never encountered the movement on this one before. I think I've since determined that it's a "Bracket" clock, although I still have a bit of research to do to learn about how I might get it ticking again!

I know nothing about it other than it was given to the person who sold it to me by their Grandfather shortly before he died. They didn't have any other information. It's in REALLY rough shape; the veneer will break and flake off with the slightest touch and it's very dusty/dirty.

I have searched for hours online and haven't seen anything close to the case design (especially the art deco-like flourish at the top), although I've found several matches for the dial and movement. At this point I'm leaning towards the "Gray" on the dial referring to "Benjamin Gray". Can anyone confirm that or steer me right?!

I haven't taken it apart yet since it's so fragile, and although I doubt the case is restorable I'd sure hate to do further damage to a rare and treasured relic if that's what it turns out to be!

There's no marks on the back of the movement, nor anywhere on the case, and no paper (or even remnants of paper) glued to the wood panels. The door on the back is missing so perhaps there was more info forever lost on a label attached to that.

It's 18.5" tall, 6.5" deep, and 12" wide. It's missing a side vent, the dome glass, and likely other stuff I'm unaware of. If I could find a photo of a similar clock I'd know what my goal would be when attempting a restoration or rebuild.

Once I summon up enough courage, and have done more research, I'll carefully take it apart, clean it and see if I can get it working. Restoring the case may be a lost cause.

If anyone knows more about this clock and could help solve some of the mystery for me that would be great!
