When I first acquired this item I thought it was an oil can, but have since realized it's a perfume spritzer. For robots? Or maybe I'm wrong about that and it's something else?! Maybe it's for applying pesticides... It's not very large; only 3.5" in diameter.
I thought the brass patina was nice and even and very good looking so I bought it for $2 at a thrift shop. It just sits on a shelf now wondering what to do.
UPDATE: Thanks to Manikin for pointing out it's just a plant mister, and probably not very old at that.

Aha, so that's exactly what it is - just a dirty tarnished new plant mister! I'm so disappointed... well at least it was only two bucks.
