    (310 items)

I am sure that some of you will remember the pic I posted several years ago of that vintage 1930's gas station here in town. Somebody bought it, and they are going to restore it. I am really glad to see that, as I am always excited to see old buildings restored. The way I understand it, this was a small store for many years. When the owner died in the early 1980's, the building was just boarded up and forgotten about. Of course you know I had to be there when they opened it up for the first time in 30 years.
The following is what came to light as the doors were opened.....Lots of junk, but some interesting collectibles, illuminated Pearl Beer advertising clock, old wooden cash register, wooden soda crates, old wooden radio, old soda cans, misc. other interesting items tucked away.

Thank you all very much, it is great to chat with everybody. Well, Mani, no snakes, not sure about the bugs. I hope to be there when they start to haul it out...
I had to retire several years ago, due to health reasons, yes, I am fine. Consequently, my income shrank considerably. This put collecting pretty much out of my budget. I am still able to do what I really love to do, poke around and find interesting old things to photograph. I sold a bunch of my stuff on the internet, so I could buy a new camera. I am going to sell more so I can buy a new metal detector. Life is good, and I hope to have more interesting posts in the future.
I wish a merry Christmas and a happy New Year to all...
