The ‘Americana’ was the only Lawson Time, Inc. clock made with a molded plastic case. It was available in “seven glorious colors,” including Golden Ivory, Jungle Mahogany, Gleaming Walnut, Canary Yellow, Pacific Blue, Jade Green, and Mellow Burgundy. Walnut is by far the most common. Company advertising info suggests that the Americana was introduced in the 1950s; however, this Walnut Bakelite example has the old style numerals and plain ivory aperture plate typical of Lawson’s 1935-1940 production. Variants with metal trim like this are exceptionally rare.
