I got this wonderful floral brooch this year, so I thought it would be a nice piece to end 2014. It is made of gold and has 9 small rose cut diamonds. It dates back to the Georgian period, perhaps to the 1770s. It most likely comes from Belgium or France. It may have started life as part of a Croix a la Jeannette. It has some small old repairs and is missing 1 stone, but I guess that's not so bad for its 230 plus years of age.

Hello, yes you are right, i believe this could be the upper part of a so called croix de la Jeanette. End 17th century. I'v even had the plan to buy this too, so i'v seen it passing by. A nice and beautiful finding. Happy Holidays too for you!
