I found this bisque doll while closing up my mother-in-law's house after she passed away. The doll is about 17 inches. There is a star on her neck - inside the star are the letters KH and there are the initials SH outside the star. The number 282 and Germany are also on her neck.
The body of the doll is made of 11 pieces. Does anyone know when this doll was made and what the value might be?

The Schoenau & Hoffmeister porcelain factory, also known as Porzellanfabrik Burggrub, was located in Burggrub, Germany and was founded by Arthur Schoenau and Carl Hoffmeister in 1901-1950 . Your doll dates about 1910 there about. She is on a strung composition body and is called a Socket head doll. She has a dolly face not a character . Very nice
choenau & Hoffmeister supplied bisque doll heads to the following: Kurt Bruckner, Canzler & Hoffman, Cuno & Otto Dressel, Edmond Edelmann, Gebrüder Eckhardt, Edmond Knoch, Rudolph Leschhorn, Ernst Liebermann, Eg. Mich Ernst Luthardt, Werner Luthardt, Ernst Maar & Sohn, Hans Süssenguth, Friedrich Voight, Hermann VonBerg.

Thank you Manikin! Your information was helpful. If I decided to sell the doll, do you think my best bet is to go to a local antique shop?
    8. Manikin Manikin, 9 years ago
They will offer you 50% of retail . I had a antique shop . Overhead costs . I would sell her on ebay or one of those sites . But if you need to sell her quick than a antique doll shop is where to sell or a General antique shop but they may or may not know what her value is I never refer to to general store they have very little knowledge in dolls .

I see what maybe a hairline crack in back of head ? If head has any damage value goes down dramatically. The one I showed you was taller had her original hair , antique clothes and shoes so she sold for more than yours will .
