    Happy New Year Everyone!
This is a small silver (server?) trinket. 2" x 1" inches. I would like to know its purpose, if it has one. (Salt server?) Also I have not been able to identify the silver marks. Would love to know the date (Victorian?) it was made as well as the country. I'm thinking England perhaps. Thanks! Wolcott

We had a tin like this that sat on the mantle over the fireplace. It was always full of sulfur tipped wooden stick matches to start the fire with.

Thanks fhrjr2 maybe that's what it is. Seems a bit small for wooden matches though.
      Was yours that small?
      Thanks Vetraio and Racer4!

Very interesting specially the marks . I looked in my Tardy 's book of international hallmarks and nothing the same ... 930 is a very unusual standard of silver.
It could be a stamp container ???
