I have this for 40 years but I wish I knew more about it, besides the fact that it appears to be art nouveau. Metal (bronze?) surround, painted iridescent glass but I see no makers mark. Has anyone seen anything like this before.

Thanks for the input. I searched google for Kralik specifically, then searched and spent 2 hours earlier on google looking for a vase that looks even a little like this but nothing. Do you think it is really Bohem, not French or American?
IMHO it is most likely a Bohemian piece, although personally I would not look to Kralik as the source. I think the end result piece you have here is actually the product of a refiners work, after ordering a blank from a glass house. Both the enamel work and also the metal work are not what I would consider to be typical of Kralik production... especially the metal.
More than a handful of companies could have produced the glass blank. I would be interested in knowing what the main color of the glass is if you look from the inside out (green, blue, red?), and also interested in seeing a closeup well lit image of the decor on the glass surface itself.
It is not uncommon for the metal to not be marked. I am also interested in where you are located, and where the piece was found. (country) Sometimes that can be a clue..... not all that often..... but sometimes....

Quite similar shapes were made by a number of companies. I would not jump to any conclusions.
I have compiled an image using your vase and a couple of others. This is for the purpose of showing that shapes can be similar, and at the same time quite different from each other. If you prefer I not use your vase pic for this purpose then you can delete this comment, and the picture will also be deleted from my website, which is where it is hosted. When discussing shapes, something which is a quite integral factor in my research of glass in general, and Welz in particular, I think it is of the utmost importance to make sure that shapes, if used for attribution purposes such as in comment 8, that the shapes be as similar as possible. Shapes, when produced by hand will always be slightly different, as that is the nature of the beast. I feel strongly that they need to share more similarities than differences.
I am of the belief that the image linked below, actually shows a similar shape by three different houses. Quite similar, yet distinctly different at the same time.....
