    Breweriana…
    (70 items)

Here are 4 different variations of Old Reading Brewing Company Pale Reserve Bottles. The Old Reading Brewing Company was located in Reading, PA and operated up from 1886 when it was founded up until 1976 when it closed. The brewery was originally called the Reading Brewing Company but changed ownership and names over time till it closed. Pale Reserve beer was one of the brewery's flagship beers; it was brewed from 1940 all the way till 1969.

The Pale Reserve bottles were also know as PR8s because they were smaller 8 oz bottles instead of the standard 12 oz that most breweries distributed in. Bottles like these were printed with the label / ink directly on the bottle because these would have been returnable at the brewery along with their heavy duty cardboard cases and reused.

To my knowledge and a few of my other collector friends there are only 4 variations of this bottle and I have all 4. Some have slightly different text on the front graphic and a different graphic all together on the back, while some have different graphics on the neck. The one second from the left is the rarest and hardest to find.

It took me a while to locate all 4 variations and a lot of detailed searching of entire cases. I'm very happy to have these in my collection; my goal now is to find ones in excellent condition that are still full with the original caps still intact.

    Thanks for looking.

I find a lot of these types of bottles along with many other brands of beers but the ones I find are not in perfect condition but some are in fair or good condition. Thanks for the lesson on this brand of beer I appreciate it.
