Because I too loved to read when I was young I can connect with this group of vintage memorabilia....A Gulliver's Travels book with 250 color illstrations, A perfect attendance award from school (some personal achievement to be proud of) and two round trip train tickets on a railway excursion.

What better materials for a young boy to hold on to .....the ride would be something anticipated and the book would occupy him on the way to and from destination.

The tickets and the award were two of several items that were placed between the pages of this old book. Most are signed with the young boy's name.

This old book and the items in it were rescued from a box of assorted old hardback novels that were being discarded to the trash.

If anyone can fill me in on the historical details of these to railways ...I'd love to hear and learn more.....
