Recently acquired abacus cattle counting gate from Argentina.
The dimensions are 9 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1 3/4". I am not sure if this is a model of a normal size gate or if it is a hand held abacus (calculator).

What are the beads made of, the blue ones look Touquoise. It looks as if it has age, it's a really nice item.

Peasejean55. The beads are painted wood. Hard to tell about the age. It is wood that I don't recognize.

I've looked on the net but found nothing similar to this, I'll keep searching :-)

Hate to admit that I remember using a abacus in school! Makes me sound old ;) Interesting post!

Thank you mareredware. I used fingers and toes.
