This is a solid 24 kt gold watch fob, with a relief that depicts either Troy or Paris or Mars, wearing a Trojan helmet, leaning on a pillar and gazing at themselves in another mirror on a pillar.
I've had it since I was 8, when my step-grandfather gave it to me. By weight, alone, it's quite valuable. I've been able to find nothing about it, anywhere and believe me, I've tried. I believe it's either victorian, or art deco. Anyone ever seen one of these or anything like it?
    Thanks.

Nice! But rather than a fob, I think it is a ring.

A very nice intaglio ..... have you ever used it to get the positive image in some putty like material ... Plasticine?

A photo of it would be great.
If it is a mirror could it be Narcissus?

Wow, this is very old if it's not a reproduction!!! This is really interesting. I would run to the nearest antiqueshop or perhaps better, a museum! To see if I could find someone with knowledge! Ready, steady, go!!!

Thank you! This is the real thing. No stamp but a trusted antiques and gold person here in newton said its very high karat gold and it was given to me by my grandfather in the 1960s- he had it for many years and i believe, found it in europe during his tour as a head mess cook in the army - ww1. I am going to bring it to Skinner, here in Boston. Thanks for your comment!
