Yeah! loving it.
I always get excited when I see an alligator skin covered trunk for sale. and then get thoroughly disappointed that it is tin, and was wondering even this week if a real alligator skin trunk exists... and viola .. the answer. Jim have you ever seen a full sized alligator covered trunk? (although this is pretty close to full size)
I have not seen one in person. However, there is one on the cover of a 1906 Montgomery Wards trunk catalog I have. Interestingly though there is no alligator trunk listed in the catalog.

Yes, that is an alligator covered trunk, I have one just like it only there is no damage. However, they are toy trunks that measure 18' long.

Awesome guys... thanks for the info on the 'gator trunks... I suppose living further north I am a bit less likely to see one, although these things travel the world.... probably one in Nepal this very moment. Getting back to this one Jim, incredible how pristine the interior is.

Jim, what an incredible interior. Those Portfolio trunks really had some of the most beautiful interiors. This is the finest example I've ever seen!!
