I recently was given dolls by a family member. She has no knowledge of the dolls, just that they were relatives and have been kept in a box for quite some time. I am trying to get as much information I can on what they are. Thank you for your time. I cannot find any markings on the doll.

Appears to be a Lenci Doll (Italy)but there were many look a likes made . Lenci's are very collectible . There clothes were usually embellished with felt ' Look on bottom of her foot to see if it is signed , do her feet have stitched toes , does she have double layers ears and a zig zag pattern stitching down back of neck ?

Interesting face. Good luck, cpursley. :)

Manikin, I reserve a special thanks to you for an article you posted on another thread re Bradley dolls, was extremely helpful to me with a doll I own. :)

She does have stiched toes, zig zag stitching on neck. And double layer ears. There is no signature at the bottom of her feet though.

She has all the right marks for a Lenci . Look and see they often tagged clothes . I would say she is a Lenci sometimes just had a hang tag .

Well I do see red dots by eyes so let me research her more as Lenci I don't believe did that .

I just looked online and found that true lenci do not have the red dot in the eye. Darn it, she is still beautiful. And has just about every other characteristic that I could find.

She is a fantastic look a like so is still a wonderful doll . Just not as a valuable as a True Lenci . I did not notice eyes till I re looked at her :-( But I love her and she still has value ,

I contacted a friend on Ebay who is an expert on dolls! Her name on Ebay is "luvbigcats"". I bragged about this sight and I expect she'll join soon. She loves to solve mysteries!
