The button shows an eagle with the letters JW in the center of a circle. The back is marked with EXTRA QUALITY. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have this button as well, only mine has Superior Quality written on the back. It is a 2 piece brass metal with a loop shank on the back. 7.8 inch/ 2.3 mm. I have been searching quite a while without a great deal of luck. However I did find one for sale on Ebay. I have figured out that it is a vintage uniform button . Here is a link for a sale on it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/221838725729?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fsch%2FCollectibles-%2F1%2Fi.html%3FLH_Complete%3D1%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D221838725729%26LH_PrefLoc%3D2%26_rdc%3D1

Hope this helps, love to know if you find out anything else.

That is a button for the John Wanamaker department store in Philadelphia. The Wanamaker eagle in the center courtyard of the store downtown was a famous meeting place in Philadelphia. "Meet you at the eagle at 3:45." Circa 1900.
