    katherines…
    (247 items)

The Mexican rings in this picture are all early seventies, the rest are just rings from here and there. I keep them on a safety pin, lol. Sharing for DrFluffy and her silver fishes. Also her Mexican brooch, the third ring with leaves has a bit of that sort of look. :)

The first one with the black stone is stamped Sterling and Cellini.

Second one I think came from Mexico, can't make out the marking. That may be abalone in the setting.

Third one is marked 925, looks like abalone in the setting as well.

Fourth has a hallmark I can't make out, looks like a snake with a duck on its back, lol. I've no clue what the stone in the setting is, maybe opal. Think this one may be Mexican as well.

Fifth, the dangling hearts is marked Hong Kong Sterling, which surprised me as I would have said Indian, but there you go. I saw a ring similar to this posted here two or three weeks ago, which is why I dug these out.

Sixth, stamped 925, it's got a bit of a ruby in the ring on the ring.

Seventh and last, and I don't know how this got in here as it isn't my style, so may have been a found ring or a gift, it's marked Sterling, and has an opal and little ruby off to one side.

    Thanks for looking!

They're all nice! #2 is referred to as Paua. I personally don't know the difference between that and abalone...
    12. katherinescollections katherinescollections, 9 years ago
Thanks for sharing that. Ring 2, 3, and 4 came from Mexico, I just assumed they were shell abalone, like from Ensenada or Rosarito or somewhere like that. Paua, huh, will have to look it up. Thanks again! :)

Hello Bonnie, you're late the party, lol, but welcome always, thanks for your sweet compliment, yes, that is a particular favorite of mine, I think it's from the 80s, I had wanted one for a long time before, so naturally it pleases me more than most. :)

Back in the day when I bought these down in Mexico, I want to say early 70s, they couldn't have cost more than a dollar or two in the local five and dimes, the only trouble I had was choosing among the assortment of trays, all the rings were different. At the time they were just pretty baubles for a young fashionista, lol. To think these were all handcrafted by Taxco silver artisans and I never appreciated them until now! How my world has changed.
