My Fiance got this Handmade German Beer Stein in an estate sale when he was like 13 or 14 for $20. It's been sitting in his closet for over 6 years because he figured it was a replica. I just found it today and fell in love. It's breath taking, with intricate hand painted vines with leaves and grapes. The metal cap is engraved with quality that you can't find anymore. The Der Rhein is painted on the face. It shows all of the towns and their flags. The handle is textured like wood and there's gold leaf paint on the base and the neck. I haven't been able to find a date like on others that I've found but there is a stamp of some sort on the bottom. All I want to know is how old it is and if it's the real deal.

Did you ever find out the age &/or value of the Der Rhein stein? I have one exactly like it. My Father purchased it in Germany. He was stationed in Germany during WW II & would show us ( his children ), all the places he was in during the war on this beer stein. P PLEASE reply to me at TIMXLAWSON@YMAIL.COM
Thank you very much & God bless you & yours
