    Hi all,
You can't beat the old stuff!
Made of onyx with a glass cover its a nice quality, attractive, working thermometer.
With a little bit of social history thrown in.
The Co Operative Permanent Building Society, founded in 1884, became Nationwide Building Society in 1970.
My favourite purchase of the year..to date :)

    Thank you

Thanks Sean & Phil. Phil its excellent for teaching me the difference between Fahrenheit & Celsius, I'm always getting them confused.

Looks lovely quality Fran, and a very stylish dial.
We used to be Fahrenheit too, then we had to be 'harmonised' with Europe, hence the dual scale! Dual scale on our speedometers and tape measures too...I won't go on.

Thanks Peggy. I was looking for a thermometer for the car actually, the new (second hand) one I have doesn't have one, but this is a bit too nice to keep in the car. Decided to keep this inside & get a cheapy strip one for the car instead :)

Hi Anne. Thank you. It's much too nice to go in the car, also too big & bulky :)
