*** NOT MURANO ART GLASS ***

I am posting this because the label can fools us. Of course when I found this and saw the name SEGUSO I was sure this was Murano Glass. I found this in my early days...but I figured I found a Great piece (it is a nice piece in its own way....). The label was there. Had the name SEGUSO on it. Printed in Gold, with a Crown on Top. Gotta be MURANO GLASS -- BUT NO. It is Glass *Made in the Style of Murano Glass Italy* and ACTUALLY MADE IN MARIO SEGUSO CA'D'ORO SHOP IN "" BRAZIL"".

A name that one would figure was Murano Glass - but not.

NOT made in Murano Italy at all --------> but " BRAZIL ".

It is nice looking but it kinda rubs me the wrong way (personally) but that is just me. I keep this as a reminder of a learning Tool. Not all appears to be what it is - Even sometimes with a full label.

    Live and Learn.... ;-)

    thanks

hi Antiquerose , you must have liked it to buy it in the first place!! its a lovely paperweight & you gotta admit sometimes you gotta take a chance especially if unsure , it could be the difference between loosing a couple of pounds & making a small fortune.. all collecting is about learning !!!
ive done the same myself and I think - so has everyone here on c/w
don't let it rub you the wrong way , you should be enojying it , I would be;-]

@surfdub66 - Thanks for the Comment. LOL

yeah, it has it own appeal. Yes I like anything when it has a label on it, and do buy for that very reason. Just in case that will help solve another mystery down the road.

Can't rub me too much -- As it is STILL is in my China Cabinet .......LOL

Not so fake as you think. The Seguso family business it was made by in Brazil is one and the same family as, the Murano Seguso made glass one family member moved to Brazil and set up business.

Real seguso art glass, same Seguso family just not made in Italy.

      Regards
