I picked up this pretty little "basket / catch-all" this past weekend and was told that it is pretty old. I can't find any markings on it and am trying to find out any information on this piece. I believe it's made of aluminum. Can anyone help in identifying what this is? Thanks!

Made in the 50's and early 60's/ Aluminum. Made by various companies in many styles. Hammered or floral designs, I have about 60 pieces, many are used with pyrex dishes inside, some are candy bowls, biscuit warmers, so on. Some have names stamped on bottom, somer just Aluminum. Dave
you are so right on.
Thanks Dizzydave!
They could be older than that. I have some that were wedding gifts to my parents who got married in 1946. Can I ask what you used to your basket so shiny???
Thanks Theresa! I haven't cleaned it at all ... I bought it the way it is.
By the way, it is what it is, a nice aluminum basket...nothing more nothing less. So it's not a mystery anymore !
