Frances Yeend was an internationally known soprano who appeared regularly with the New York City Opera and the Metropolitan Opera in the decades after World War II.
This carved ivory brooch belonged to her and was sold at her estate auction. My favorite antique shop owner was friends with Mrs. Yeend and told me all about her. She died in West Virginia. I obtained this brooch on line.

It's wonderful to be able to get information straight from the 'horse mouth' so to speak, how lovely you were able to get the brooch!...:-)

Sometimes it is not a "horse" that I call him....just kidding!
